​DEAN MARTIN

I started my career as a child actor appearing in a weekly TV show on BBC for two years and also featured in several commercials.

 

I’ve been a Radio Presenter for almost 20 years now, beginning my career working for Bruno Brookes and Keith Chegwin. After that I joined Capital Radio Café for a brief while, then moved onto my most recent position at Capital Gold where I have been for 14 years.

 

During my time at Gold, I have covered several different shows including breakfast and drive time. For the last 10 years I presented the Evening Request Show and from this show alone I have built strong relationships with many of my listeners as well as a strong online presence where I can provide updates and communicate with listeners and have secured high ratings as seen on Rajar, with each show receiving 6,000 calls for song requests.

 

My current shows on Gold mainly focus on music from the 60s and 70s with listeners able to make requests, however I’m also adept in other eras such as the 80s and 90s.

 

As well as presenting the Evening Request Show I have also hosted numerous interviews on Gold with reputable stars such as Michael Bolton, David Essex, Englebert Humperdink, Bill Medley, George Benson, Marty Wilde, Sandie Shaw, Neil Sedaka, Gary Puckett and Diana Ross.

 

Outside of the Gold studios, and for the past 8 years I have successfully presented at events such as the Gold Weekenders at Vauxhall Holiday Park and Gold Cuises for Thomson Holidays, all of which have sold out.

 

I have hosted many live events and outside broadcasts from Party in the Park, Goodwood Festival Of Speed and also worked with Diana Ross at Blenium Palace.

 

My latest achievement was planning, organising and hosting a Gold Radio event at Wembley Arena with 8000 of our listeners. This event was the first to bring both Bill Medley and Gary Puckett to perform in the UK.

 

Due to the success of the first Unchained and Live production arrangements have already begun for a second which will tour parts of the UK.

Another of my achievements was being selected to host an evening with Sylvester Stallone held at the London Palladium. Because of this success we are now discussing the possibility of bringing over Arnold Schwarzenegger in the summer.

 

A few years ago I was awarded a Freeman of The City of London for services to Broadcasting and Charity Work.
